How to Give Your Business a Fall Refresh

How to Give Your Business a Fall Refresh

There is a certain magic that comes as we roll into September, isn't there?

It's typically known as back-to-school time, but I think of it as back-to-business too.

I like to think of September as the new January.

After taking it a little easy during the busy months of summer, where clients are off sunbathing and business slows down, September hits and we have new energy to bring back to our business.

There are a few things I always do when I get back into my business mindset in the Fall months and I think they are so important in creating a fresh, clean slate.

1. Review and update your website.

It's time to freshen up your copy, remove those old offers, and maybe even create a few new ones. Switch out some of your photos to create a new look. I like to get a fresh branding shoot around this time too, incorporating a fresh look for my branding colours and backgrounds.

2. Review past client work processes.

So do you remember all those dreadful work processes that made you dream of summer vacations coming early? It's time to take a look at any pain points that have come up along the way. It's a great time to consider integrating client feedback regarding anything that appeared confusing or even adding an auto-booking calendar. Using Calendly has been a game-changer for my business and sanity.

3. Update your contracts.

This doesn't have to be a daunting task. It seems that when conflicts in our contracts arise, we handle them, and try to make a mental note to adjust them later. Then we get really busy and forget all about them until the same issue comes up a month or two later. Review your current contracts, update your prices to reflect your increased experience, or add a clause that reflects some pain points that have come up for you or your clients.

4. Reset Your Intentions

These could be financial goals or even plans that you’re going to get out and enjoy the crisp fall weather more during the day as a part of your creative process. I like to write these down and stick those intentions somewhere where you can be reminded of them every day!

5. Prep Your Black Friday Sale

If you are running a Black Friday sale, it's time to prep if you haven’t started already. If you use Affiliates in your biz, now is a great time to connect with them too, so they can prepare on their end as well. Also, make sure you’re on our mailing list so that you're the first to know about our Black Friday sales too!

This September Biz Cleaning is meant to make you think about where you want to be at the close of 2021 or even this time next year, so you can start mapping it out now.

There is no need to wait until January to clean out the cobwebs in your business.

As always, remember to ask for help where ever you need it. You don’t need to go it alone.
